What truly makes the Seahawks different is their commitment to inclusivity and community in offering lacrosse programs and teams for all ages and skill levels. The program welcomes everyone with open arms, from beginners picking up a stick for the first time, to experienced players competing in regional tournaments across the state.
With a rich history dating back to 2010, The Seahawks proudly hold the distinction of being the longest-running and original community lacrosse program in Sarasota. Throughout its existence, we have been dedicated to teaching the game and the spirit of lacrosse to thousands of aspiring players, many of whom have gone on to excel at the highest levels of the sport.
The Seahawks have cultivated a close-knit community, with a shared passion for lacrosse, creating a supportive environment where players of all backgrounds across Sarasota County can thrive and grow.

Lacrosse Bio
Coach Jamie Carver is a highly respected figure in the lacrosse community, with an extensive background in coaching and a passion for the sport. An alumni (1994) of the Maryland Terrapins Lacrosse Team and a founding member of the Sarasota Seahawks Lacrosse Club, Coach Carver has played a pivotal role in establishing and nurturing the program since its inception.
Currently, he serves as the varsity head lacrosse coach for Venice High School, where he continues to inspire and develop young athletes in the game of lacrosse.
In addition to his coaching roles, Coach Carver is actively involved in promoting lacrosse at a regional level. He currently serves as the Vice President of the Gulf Coast Region for the North Florida Chapter of USA Lacrosse, where he contributes to the growth and development of the sport in the local community.

Coach Vinnie Bellante brings a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for lacrosse to his role with the Seahawks Lacrosse club. An alumni (1999) and founding member of the Eastern Connecticut State University DIII men’s lacrosse program Coach Bellante joined the club in 2019, driven by a deep commitment to developing new players and igniting a love for the sport among young athletes.
Coach Bellante focuses on nurturing the skills and enthusiasm of
players in the 8U and 10U programs, contributing to the overall growth of the sport across Sarasota County.

Lacrosse Bio
Coach Egan played College Club Lacrosse for “The Rock” Slippery Rock University in the early 80’s. Egan’s twin daughters played youth and high school lacrosse in Connecticut. Daughter Grace recently graduated and was a D3 Lacrosse starter for the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops, earning First Team All NCAC Conference. Daughter Molly attends Case Western Reserve University in Ohio and is on the Cheerleading Team. Coach loves to golf, yoga class, and helping kids learn about the perfect game, lacrosse. Coach and wife Virginia live in Venice.

I was first exposed to lacrosse in Sarasota in Middle School. I had the pleasure of being coached by Jamie (Coach Jamie Carver) and Clayton (Coach Clayton Wight) at a young age. After my 1st season of lacrosse with the Seahawks Coaches, I fell in love with the sport. I knew I wanted to play the sport at the highest level, and consoled with Jamie on what would be the best steps for me to take.
